Stefania Maria Maci has a Degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures obtained at the University of Ca’ Foscari – Venice, where she also obtained the Linguistics and Philosophy of Language Diploma. She studied at UCL – University College of London – and at Warwick University.

At the moment, her research is focussed on the analysis of the English language in academic contexts, with particular regard to the analysis of medical English and Identity in National and Professional Contexts. She is carrying out research about:

- the genre of Medical Research Letters

- metadiscoursive aspects of medical English across genres

- argumentative strategies of medical English across cultures.
