Davide Simone GIANNONI is an associate professor in English Language and Translation at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature of Bergamo University, where he is among the founders of the CERLIS Research Centre. After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literature, he specialised in Applied Linguistics in the UK (M.A. in Linguistics, University of Surrey; PhD in Applied Linguistics, University of Reading) and the US (Morley Scholar, University of Michigan). His papers have appeared in several volumes and international journals and he has given presentations at conferences and seminars both in Italy and abroad. With other colleagues at Bergamo University, he has taken part in inter-academic research programmes on "Intercultural Discourse in Domain-Specific English", "Identity and Culture in English Domain-Specific Discourse" and "Tension and Change in English Domain-Specific Genres".
